Anxiety can be debilitating. It affects your ability to concentrate, sleep, and perform daily tasks. You might find it challenging to focus at work or enjoy social activities because your mind is constantly preoccupied with worry.
Anxiety can be triggered by everyday occurrences or even by the anticipation of potential future events. It feels like you're always on edge, waiting for something bad to happen.
Anxiety is a treatable!

Depression can interfere with our ability to think clearly and balance how we feel and react. Some say it feels like a heavy, wet blanket, smothering and making everything difficult, even getting out of bed.
It is known for a persistent feeling of: sadness or “emptiness”, feelings of guilt, worthlessness, and helplessness, low energy, difficulty concentrating or holding focus, over-sleeping, insomnia, restlessness, and feelings of anxiety.
Some more serious forms may include include “cutting”, skin-picking, hair pulling, even banging our own heads or hurting ourselves. Extreme forms include suicidal thoughts and thoughts about death or “just not waking up”.

Our clinicians utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-focused psychotherapy. We are accustomed to working with patients who have experienced trauma, or continue to manage life-long struggles. Some patients suffer with flashbacks and painful memories, dark and intrusive thoughts, anger, feeling on-edge and overwhelmed. At Systems Family Therapy, we work to heal debilitating sadness, emotional-spinning, cycling, intense experiences of fear and foreboding. We work to put the control of your life, back in your hands.

Systems Family Therapy utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-focused psychotherapy and Family Systems therapy to directly manage behavioral and emotional issues associated with Bipolar Disorder. Our therapist often coordinates with psychiatric services for medication management.
Bipolar Disorder can take people and families hostage. Many experience anger, mood-swings, impulsiveness, unpredictable presentation, depression and mania. We work to bring stability back in to the picture, increase resistance to distress, keep impulsivity in check and better manage extreme highs-and-lows.

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) can be a whirlwind of unstable emotions, behaviors, and relationships. Individuals with BPD often experience the hallmarks of intense mood swings, fears of abandonment, relentless struggles with self-image and self-worth. Some engage in impulsive behaviors, have difficulty regulating their emotions, and experience frequent shifts in their sense of identity. Relations can be rocky, with patients sometimes feeling emotionally unhinged from extreme sensitivity to perceived slights or criticism.
Systems Family Therapy also assist in the treatment and management of:
Paranoid, Schizoid, Schizotypal , Histrionic, Avoidant , Dependent and Obsessive/Compulsive Personality disorders.
We work to support both patients with BPD/personality disorders and their families! We strongly encourage both partners and family to join us! There IS hope!
